MarkEilertsen Program: MS, Mechanical Engineering   Hometown: Snowflake, AZ  Previous degrees/Institutions: BS (Mechanical Engineering) – Brigham Young University, AS (Drafting Technology) – Utah Valley State College, Cert (CNC Machining) – Davis Applied Technology College  Past Employment: Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technician – Air Force Reserves, Developmental Engineer (A/C structures and software systems engineering) – US Air Force Research Interests/Project: My main interests lie in mechatronics and product development. I am currently building a printer to embed strain gauges into batteries to increase their effective lifespan. Honors/Awards: Company Grade Officer of the Year – 2007, 2009, O’Neill Engineering Award, General James Ferguson Engineering Award Interests outside of research: Mtn Biking, rock climbing, snow boarding, flying (instrument rating), RC planes and 3D printers. Favorite activity in SLC or surrounding area: Mountain biking on the Wasatch Crest trail. I’ve always wanted to: Base Jumping  Best kept hidden secret about Utah: How amazing the outdoor activities are here. Can’t beat it for variety and easy of access.
